H Pallas Nagy Lexikona είναι η πρώτη εγκυκλοπαίδεια που γράφτηκε στα ουγγρικά και δεν αποτελεί μετάφραση από άλλη γλώσσα. Για τους συνολικά 16 τόμους, με 150.000 λήμματα, που εκδόθηκαν στο διάστημα 1893 έως και 1897, εργάστηκαν περίπου 300 συγγραφείς. Η πλειοψηφία των συγγραφέων ανήκε στη Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Επιμελητής της έκδοσης ήταν ο József Bokor.
